A Conversation with Dr. Warren Kinghorn
We are honored to welcome Warren Kinghorn, MD, ThD on Sunday March 1 at 12:30 in DC101 for a special event exploring Theology and Mental Health. Dr. Kinghorn serves as co-director of the Theology, Medicine and Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School and holds a unique dual appointment at Duke University School of Medicine as Professor of Psychiatry and at Duke Divinity School as Professor of Theology.
Dr. Kinghorn is the author of Wayfaring: An Embodied, Relational, Christian Approach to Mental Health Care, a thoughtful and compassionate vision for mental health care rooted in Christian faith, community, and embodied life. Drawing from both clinical experience and theological reflection, he helps us consider how the Church can faithfully accompany those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other forms of suffering.
The event will include a brief introduction, Dr. Kinghorn’s presentation, and time for Q&A. Whether you are personally wrestling with mental health challenges, caring for someone who is, or simply desiring a deeper understanding of how faith and psychology intersect, this promises to be a meaningful and enriching conversation for our whole community.
Lunch will be provided and we hope to see you there!
