Bible 20/20 Series

Griefshare
Starting Sunday, October 11th from 11am - 1pm

GriefShare is a 15-week support group designed to help those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Through video teaching, discussion, and connection with others who understand the experience of grief, participants will have an opportunity to process their loss and receive encouragement and practical tools for navigating the journey.
The group will meet every Sunday from 11:00am to 1:00pm, beginning October 11th. You are welcome to join us whether your loss is recent or happened years ago.

ISRAEL’S STORY: READING THE OLD TESTAMENT WITH FAITH AND UNDERSTANDING
TAUGHT BY: BEL AIR CHURCH TEACHING SCHOLAR IN RESIDENCE DR. BOB PAUL
Join us for a year-long deep dive into the Hebrew Scriptures, the remarkable account of how God called, formed, corrected, and sustained a people through whom he would ultimately bless the world. They tell the story of God's covenant purpose for Israel and, through Israel, for all creation. They are the Scriptures that Jesus knew, taught, and fulfilled. To understand Jesus and the New Testament well, we also must know Israel's story.
We’ll trace that story in three twelve-week phases:
Fall: The Birth of Israel (Patriarchs, Exodus, Sinai, Wilderness, and the Promised Land)
Winter: Kings and Prophets (the monarchy, the divided kingdom, and the prophetic critique of power and injustice)
Spring: Exile, Return, and Hope (the Babylonian exile, restoration, and the world into which Jesus was born)
As we discover how the biblical writers understood Israel's history as the story of God's covenant faithfulness, we will also explore what archaeology, history, and modern scholarship can (and cannot) tell us about Israel's past. Whether you are already familiar with the Old Testament or are encountering much of it for the first time, learning to read these Scriptures faithfully and intelligently deepens our confidence that God meets us through these ancient writings, whose unique and trustworthy witness culminates in Jesus Christ.
