Hospitality Team

Join us in welcoming guests and congregants onto campus! The Hospitality Team is a fun and vibrant group with hearts for others to experience the love and warmth of Jesus as they spend time on campus during our Sunday in-person patio services. Team members are strategically placed throughout the physical campus to welcome, direct, and assist as needed.

Requirements: Congregants 18+ are asked to serve twice a month if possible, attend a meeting prior to each service they are scheduled to serve at, and stay up-to-date with the life of the church. Congregants under 18 may serve with a parent/guardian or with Student Ministries. For those who only want to serve occasionally or during special events, you may be interested in the Special Events Team.

Lent Life Group Leaders

We need people who love people! We are looking for community-minded, Jesus lovers to step up and step in to lead new Lent groups beginning mid-February! Being a group leader simply means over Zoom, you help facilitate conversation around the lent sermon study guide, pray for your group, and organize meeting logistics. You got this! And we will help!

Requirements: A deep love of God and a desire to grow and invest in Christ-centered community. Available to meet digitally once a week for the 7 weeks of Lent. If this is you, please email Rebecca: rebecca.morgan@belairpres.org

Worship Musicians

Help the contemporary band lead worship for the oncampus church services with your instrument or voice. If you play an instrument and/or sing, we would love to get to know you and see how you may be able to serve in our ‘on campus’ services. Because of Covid, there are more challenges for rehearsing new musicians and evolving rules for singing in groups, but we would still like to keep a list of musicians willing to sing/play “in person” and encourage you to come to Sunday services ‘on campus’ and participate regularly in our worship services (not just when you are asked to play on stage). We cannot plug everyone in right now, but hope to develop an ongoing relationship and get to know you and how best you may be able to serve in the Worship Arts Dept.

Requirements: Being a part of the worship team is an up-front, leadership position that requires a genuine heart for Jesus, a lifestyle that reflects those values, and a heart that seeks to lead others into worship. It is not a ‘performance’ opportunity. Proficiency in instrument or voice, showing up on time, being prepared, being a team player, having a humble spirit, and willingness to participate in worship even when not on ‘stage’ are also of high value. While our normal “interest” meetings and “open rehearsals” are not able to happen right now, we hope to still find ways to get to know each person individually and see how best one may serve and grow in the Worship Arts ministry.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)

Serve during our on-campus worship services in case of emergency.  It’s not often, but accidents do happen and we need the help of qualified medical assistance to bring comfort, to administer first aid, or to help decide the next step of care.  Bel Air Church maintains first aid equipment.

Requirements: Qualifications such as a medical license or completed course in First Aid, CPR, and AED. EMTs serve only when available during the time of a service or event, typically once a month.

Requirements: Singers in and outside of the LA area who are high school age and up are invited. Previous choral experience and/or sight-reading ability are helpful, but not required. In-service training is provided.

Instrumentalists

Offer your instrumental skills for occasional worship and service opportunities. If you play one or more instruments at an intermediate, advanced, or professional level, let us know!  When opportunities arise for either virtual or live participation, we’ll contact you.

Requirements: Instrumentalists in and outside of the LA area who play at an intermediate, advanced, or professional level are invited. You must be playing actively now. Sorry, we have no current opportunities for those who “used to play” or “would like to learn to play.”

Bel Air Kids Ministries

Share the love of God to our youngest church family members, our kids! Our Kids’ Team works under the direction and supervision of the Bel Air Kids’ Staff to provide our children, babies through 5th grade, with a safe environment in which they can experience the love of God and grow in their knowledge of Him and in relationship with each other. Our current opportunity is our weekly 10am Zoom Sunday School and help with video storytelling throughout the week.

Requirements: Congregants 18+ are asked to serve at least twice a month. Application, background check, and interview required. Skills Needed: personal and ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ, sensitivity to the needs of parents and children, listening and good communication, ability to remain calm and lovingly patient with children.

Contact: Currently, we are not actively onboarding. However, we would love to get to know you and tell you more about this ministry! For Babies–TK: cristina.bradford@belairpres.org or Kinder–5th Grade: jenny.grutter@belairpres.org

Parable Coffee Lab

Come learn how to make amazing coffees and teas on a professional level. While you’re learning how to make high-end coffee you’ll have a chance to meet people by welcoming and engaging in conversation with your fellow baristas and with every customer. For those who are looking for a hyper-social, fast-paced, and learning-rich environment.

Requirements: A “can do” attitude, a smiling face, and a willingness to learn and grow are all must-have qualities. Baristas need to be comfortable standing for extended periods of time and will be handling hot beverages so a steady hand is very important.
